Located approximately half way between Coimbra and Guarda this historic Pousada was originally constructed as a Monastery in the late 18th century on the orders of the aristocratic Bishop, Count Francisco de Lemos de Faria Pereira. In its more recent conversion into a Pousada the original structure has been carefully preserved in order to maintain its original character and to recreate its atmosphere. The Pousada makes an ideal location to explore the local historic countryside and sample its culture and its traditional cuisine. There are thirty one rooms and three suites with a restaurant and bar. In the ample grounds there is a tennis court, swimming pool and children’s play area.
